R E P O R T  of volunteer   JAN  PELESKA

from INEX-SDA Czech republic

I went in Georgia particulary to get know local conditions, culture and customs. And I was successful in doing with the great help and willingness of my friend and local people. I got to know city life, rural life, all local transport (mashrutka, metro, bus, taxi), local cuisine but mainly the nature and mentality of Georgia´s people.

Local people are very religious and they don´t still lose their identity. And I much admired it as "Europeans". The firm will in the family, freedom, tradition and nation. Marvelous!!!

And workcamp? - It was amazing. It was what to do the whole day. We worked mostly in rural and when there wasn´t anything to do (bad weather) solution found at once - trips, visiting folk performance, picnic - the organization didn´t disappoint.

So I thank you to all my friends that they showed to me this friendly country.

Gamorjobat !

Waw, what a marvellous adventure that I lived in Georgia!!

Even in my dreams I couldn’t imagine that this camp was going to be so rich in emotions!

If I had to summarize this experience with one word I would say: Hospitality!! All the families where we came made us feel like a king, like part of their family! You do not know the true Georgia if you don’t participate to a “Supra ” with the delicious food and if you do not make toasts with the strong vodka together with the Tamada.

Gaarmot!!

Concerning the work, it was great to work all together with the family and the other nice and so friendly volunteers. Eating mandarins sitting on a tree and looking at the beautiful view was for me kind of liberty!

Even if I stayed only 10 days, that I didn’t understand all what the families or sometimes the volunteers told me in Georgian I felt like at home!

The Georgian people make the wealth of Georgia and the reason why we want to come back in this country with a lot of human values!!

Didli Madloba my friends!!!!!

And don’t forget:

“Marina Marina Marina moguesi beverger Mandarina…”;-)
